AI Chatti — a chatbot that answers customers from a company's own documents
AI Chatti is a SaaS service we built. It is a multi-tenant service where every company has its own bot, its own documents and its own subscription. We built the marketing site, the dashboard, the AI search and the embeddable chat.
What we built
Website and dashboard
A web app: Finnish and English pages and a dashboard where customers create bots, upload documents and copy the embed code.
Embeddable chat
A separate, small script that runs isolated on the customer's own site, so the site's styles cannot break it.
AI search
Documents are split by paragraph, and search finds the passages that match the question by meaning; the answer streams to the user as it is written.
Document processing
PDF, Word, plain-text, Markdown, CSV and HTML files (up to 10 MB) are read as text and split into searchable chunks.
Subscriptions and email
Subscription billing and the service's automatic emails.
Hosting
The database runs in the EU, with rate limiting on requests.
What was hard
A chat on someone else's site
The widget lives on a page whose styles we don't control. The chat is isolated from the rest of the page, and the script was kept small so it doesn't slow the customer's site.
Answers only from their own material
The bot has to answer from the company's documents, not invent. So each answer is built from retrieved passages, searched by vector in the database.
